This small table was created from four other pieces of furniture!

Picking up pieces of furniture left on the side of the road, tends to yield many useful parts.  The found pieces are usually trashed or have been rained on.  If the piece as a whole is in bad condition I always try to look at it as the sum of its parts.  This particular table is made from two chairs (the legs), a coffee table (aprons), and a headboard (the top); all of which were unusable as they were.

All of these pieces assembled, with a little paint and polyurethane, made a uniquely adorable side table!

Weathered Wood & Chalkboards

This weathered shelf was built out of a weathered oak pallet, and I love how it has the look of a vintage crate.

CIMG1789 (2)I found these weathered two by four frames at an estate sale over the weekend. I don’t know what they were originally built for, but they were already assembled and had that great weathered look.  So I brought them home and added some wood slats to the bottom of each frame.  This created these cute & chunky boxes or cubbies, depending on how you choose to use them.  Great for decoration or storage!

I made this pair of chalkboards out of a discarded piece of furniture I salvaged off the side of the road.  It was originally a display case with two side panels and a door.  I disassembled the cabinet, it was in bad shape, and removed all the glass.  A little wood glue, some paint, prefinished chalkboard and I had two cute chalkboards.
